The National Rifle Association is pleased to announce that the last 1874 NRA Edition Shiloh Sharps Quigley rifle, donated by Shiloh Rifle Manufacturing in 2011, has been sold. Available through the Friends of NRA sponsor program, the rifles have raised more than $500,000 for the shooting sports.

“We are extremely pleased with the success of the Shiloh donation and sponsor program,” said Kyle Weaver, Managing Director of NRA Field Operations. “Their valuable contribution not only generates a tremendous amount of money for the shooting sports, but helps further the Friends of NRA brand.”

Starting as an idea between Friends of NRA and Shiloh in 2010, 50 Quigley rifles were handmade to honor the American values of self-reliance, pride and freedom. Chambered in .45-110, the rifles featured tiger-striped, color-cased parts and were engraved with the “NRA” initials encircled with a gold oval inlay.

Transforming the rifles from outstanding to one-of-a-kind collectibles, certificates of authenticity were signed by actor and NRA Board Member Tom Selleck, who starred as Matthew Quigley in the 1990 film Quigley Down Under. Quigley’s rifle of choice in the movie was an 1874 Sharps.

“Shiloh Rifle is extremely proud to be involved with the Friends of NRA program and believes in The NRA Foundation’s cause,” said Shiloh Rifle Manufacturing President Kirk Bryan. “It is imperative that we do everything possible to get the next generation involved and educated in all aspects of shooting and firearms safety.”

Each rifle was sold as a special Friends of NRA sponsorship by NRA Field Representatives. The $500,000 raised by the Shiloh rifles will help ensure the future of the shooting sports through NRA Foundation grants.

“Shiloh’s donation is significant to the longevity of Friends of NRA,” said John DaSilva, National Manager of Events and Marketing for NRA Field Operations. “With a committed group of sponsors, volunteers and companies like Shiloh, who share our passion for freedom, Friends of NRA is leading the way in ensuring that every generation will be able to enjoy the shooting sports.”

Established in 1976, Shiloh Rifle Manufacturing is a family-owned company headquartered in Big Timber, Mont. Shiloh is the recognized leader in the quality production and craftsmanship of the incomparable Sharps rifle.

Friends of NRA is a grassroots fundraising program that fosters community involvement, raises money, and gives 100 percent of the net proceeds to qualified local, state and national programs. Working with the NRA’s field staff, thousands of volunteers nationwide participate in the program by organizing committees and planning events in their communities.
